The San Francisco Icon poster features the Golden Gate Bridge, a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait in San Francisco, California. It held the record for the world's longest suspension bridge main span until 1964. Easily the most recognizable symbol of San Francisco, the bridge placed fifth on the List of America's Favorite Architecture by the American Institute of Architects.
The Golden Gate Bridge was designed by Joseph Strauss, Irving Morrow, and Charles Ellis, and construction was completed in 1937.
